Building a startup that supports remote work can help attract the best talent, but it can also harm the efficiency of the company. Worth it?
In the startup world, sometimes to hire the best employees it is essential to reach outside of the domestic market. Foreign engineers have a long history of adding dynamism, expertise and diversity to tech companies across the world.
Hiring foreign talent is not much of a debate; but when these new people join the company it does present a conundrum.
Do I make the effort to bring these new people to my home city? Or, do I foster an environment of remote work and learn to work around the inevitable potholes along the way?
