Boyfriend doesn’t contribute to household expenses or bills, eats all the food, treats girlfriend like a maid and her house like a hotel

A girlfriend tired of her freeloader boyfriend took to social media to ask netizens for advice. Sharing her situation, she wrote that she and her boyfriend were in a relationship for over three years, where during the initial years, he would take her out for dates and movies. However, after her mother passed away, and she moved out to live on her own, her problems started.

In her anonymous post to popular confessions page SGWhispers on Tuesday (May 17), the girlfriend wrote: “So since then, everyday he would come over for dinner and weekends for dinner or lunch, watch TV and play games. Initially it was alright, i enjoyed the company (who wouldn’t right?) But after awhile, it gets too much as i can’t go out without him asking me when i’ll be back, and he expects me to buy dinner back for him when i’m out”.

She also added that they did not go out anywhere as she had online subscriptions to movies and TV shows.

In her post, the girlfriend wrote that her boyfriend did not “contribute to the household expenses or bills, yet he eats all the food in kitchen and drinks in fridge. He doesn’t clean, so basically I feel like he is treating my place is like a hotel with a maid (who cooks and clean) and free flow of drinks and food”.

She wrote in her post that she did not know how to solve this issue. In an aside, she added that she had told him to go back home, explaining that he did not always need to be around. However, this did not end well, as her boyfriend took it negatively and thought that she did not want him around at all.

In her post, she asked for suggestions on how to at least get him to contribute financially.

Here’s what netizens said:
