67-year-old taxi driver found dead in vehicle at Bedok Reservoir Road

Singapore – A 67-year-old taxi driver was found dead in his vehicle at the Block 117 Bedok Reservoir Road car park on Saturday (Jan 29).

Nearby residents told Chinese press Lianhe Zaobao that an eyewitness saw the taxi driver in his vehicle motionless and could not be awakened.

The passer-by alerted the authorities after sensing something was wrong.

Police officers soon arrived at the scene, followed by medical personnel.

The man was confirmed to have already passed away.

The police were notified of a case of an unnatural death at 5:46 pm on Saturday.

Paramedics pronounced the man dead at the scene.

Preliminary investigations show no foul play, said the police; investigations are ongoing.

In a similar case last year, a 65-year-old man was found unresponsive while inside a car on Claymore Road in Orchard.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force was alerted to the case of an unnatural death.

“We have been told a PHV (Private-Hire Vehicle) driver was found dead at the scene,” wrote Facebook page Beh Chia Lor – Singapore Road on the incident.

“The driver is suspected of having suffered a heart attack while driving,” the page added./TISG
