AETOS officer found dead with gunshot wound to head at Woodlands Checkpoint

A 48-year-old AETOS Auxiliary Police officer was found dead with a gunshot wound to his head at Woodlands Checkpoint, this morning. The deceased was found at a staff resting area, with his service firearm beside him. No one else was found with the late officer.

Police officers received a call for assistance at 6.38am today and arrived at the scene shortly thereafter. Paramedics pronounced the AETOS officer dead at 7.09am.

No foul play is suspected at this time. Police investigations are ongoing.

An AETOS spokesperson told the national broadsheet that the organisation is assisting in the ongoing police investigations. He added:

“Aetos Management has extended our deepest condolences to the family of the late officer and we are doing all we can to assist the family in their time of grief.”
