Near stampede situation at Circle Line MRT station due to train service suspension after Emergency Stop Plunger activated

A photo of an overcrowded Circle Line platform at Serangoon MRT station on Thursday (Nov 10) was posted online, sparking concern of a “near stampede situation”.

“I experienced a near crowd stampede situation at 8:37 am at Serangoon Circle Line MRT station. I was coming down the escalator while the platform was completely full of people. I shouted, “turn off the escalator”. A few people started to shout with me. Fortunately, nobody fell down,” wrote a netizen on the Singapore subreddit.

Customer pays S$6.20 for rice with mini sotong pieces that only filled one spoon

A customer ordering a wok of rice with sambal sotong or spicy squid was disappointed to see only a spoonful of squid for the price of S$6.20.

The customer ordered the meal from a stall at Food Court 2 Nanyang Technological University on Thursday (Nov 10).

Nominated Member of Parliament (NMP) Mark Chay recently asked the Minister for Culture, Community and Youth (MCCY) Edwin Tong the rationale for ceasing jackpot operations for Singapore Premier League clubs (SPL), which had come into effect earlier this month.

Minister Tong who is the former vice-president of the Football Association of Singapore did not reply to NMP Chay in Parliament, but instead, the Ministry provided a written reply.
