PSP’s Sani Ismail on PAP Minister Tan See Leng: Always happy to see us serving residents with the same heart regardless of our differences
SINGAPORE: Members and volunteers from the Progress Singapore Party appeared to have been very busy recently, going around Ayer Rajah, Tekka, and Choa Chu Kang in the past two weeks to spread "Deepavali festive goodwill,” wrote Sani Ismail in a Nov 2 Facebook post.
He posted a video of the various party activities, where former Non-Constituency Member of Parliament Leong Mun Wai, the party’s secretary-general; Wendy Low, the party’s communications and women’s wing head; and others are seen engaging with Singaporeans at Ayer Rajah Food Centre, Tekka Centre, and Lot One shopping centre in Choa Chu Kang.
The PSP team even bumped into Minister for Energy and Industry Tan See Leng and Minister of State for Home Affairs and Foreign Affairs Zhulkarnain Abdul Rahim at Lot One.
Dr Tan, dressed in a white shirt and pants, can be seen smiling as he shook hands and spoke briefly with Mr Ismail in one part of the clip.
Mr Ismail, who is PSP’s organising secretary and who was fielded as one of its candidates at West Coast-Jurong West GRC in last year’s General Election, wrote that the PSP team distributed teabag pouches and tissue packets while connecting with the residents there.
“During our time at Lot One, it was nice of Ministers Dr Tan See Leng and Zhulkarnain who came over to exchange smiles,” he wrote.
He added that the Minister had shared that he and his team were giving out murukku, a crispy deep-fried snack made of rice flour and black lentil flour.

“To which I responded, we were giving out teabags and don’t teabags and murukku go well together?” Mr Ismail wrote with a winky face, adding that he was “Always happy to see us serving residents with the same heart regardless of our differences.” /TISG
