Chick-fil-A’s first Singapore and Asia outlet to open at Bugis on Dec 11

SINGAPORE: Chick-fil-A will open its first outlet in Singapore — and its first in Asia — at Bugis+ mall in Singapore on Dec 11, taking over the unit formerly occupied by fashion brand Pull & Bear, CNA Lifestyle reported, citing a report from 8Days.

The launch was first announced in October last year.

The outlet will be operated by local franchisee Chyn Koh, a veteran in the restaurant industry.

According to the American fast food chain’s press release on Tuesday (Nov 4), it will be open Monday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., providing dine-in and takeaway service, but, in keeping with the brand’s long-standing tradition, will close on Sundays, as its late founder Truett Cathy believed that Sunday should be a day of rest.

The menu for Chick-fil-A’s Bugis outlet includes:

  • The Chick-fil-A chicken sandwich
  • Chick-fil-A waffle potato fries
  • Chick-fil-A lemonade
  • Milkshake flavours include vanilla, strawberry, chocolate, and cookies and cream
  • Signature sauces include Chick-fil-A sauce, barbecue sauce, honey mustard sauce, sweet and spicy sriracha sauce, and garden herb ranch sauce
  • Plus, a new spicy chilli sauce exclusive to Singapore!

To celebrate the opening, the company donated S$25,000 to The Food Bank Singapore and pledged the same amount for every new outlet it opens in the city-state.

Chick-fil-A said in August that the move was a part of its US$75 million (S$96.2 million) investment in the region.

In its press release, it stated that the restaurant will create 60 to 80 new job opportunities, though the food chain said in August that it will add 70 to 120 new jobs from local hires. /TISG
