A man spotted rollerblading on the Central Expressway (CTE) got netizens wondering what happened to the Land Transport Authority (LTA) as Singapore roads are getting “crazier and crazier.”
“This guy champion. Rollerblading at CTE,” wrote Facebook page Singapore roads accident.com in a post on Friday (May 6). ROADS.sg shared the video and asked in disbelief, “Really, rollerblading on CTE?”
The attached video confirmed that a man was really cruising along the expressway on skates on Friday.
“What happened to our LTA? Can’t they see it through CCTV and immediately put a stop or wait for something to happen, then form board of enquiry, do some stupid study on it, later just wayang a bit with some stupid measures,” wrote Facebook user Phoi Steve expressing concern on the incident.
At one point, he was rollerblading on the left-most lane, causing vehicles around him to slow down cautiously.
“… how come camera on the highway does not capture this and dispatch the authority,” added another Facebook user.
Others wondered if this was only the beginning.
According to the Road Traffic (Expressway Traffic) Rules, “no person shall at any time while on skates go or remain on any part of an expressway.”
“Our roads are getting crazier and crazier,” noted Facebook user Teo Nam Siang.
