Singapore – The Motorist App is now available for download to facilitate quick and easy payments of road tax and traffic fines so Singaporeans have no more excuses to pay late.

On June 10 (Monday), Motorist CEO Damian Sia revealed that their Motorist App is now available for everyone.

Said to be the first-of-its-kind in Singapore, the Motorist App is a vehicle management tool that will help drivers pay their outstanding traffic offences on time.

The app will also inform motorists of vehicle recalls and important expiry dates.

Once notified, the Motorist App user will be redirected to the appropriate channel such as the One Motoring site for road tax expiry.

One customer shared that he was reminded of five outstanding vehicle recalls, which proved beneficial because his car was purchased second-hand and he had no access to the car’s history.

He only found out about the five recalls after registering his vehicle to the app.

According to the press release since March 2019, there had been a steady increase in user activity, “proving that Singaporeans are time-starved and simply do not have the time to effectively manage their vehicles.”

The Motorist App also allows users to make transactions on the go instead of putting up an online car listing or personally visiting a dealership. They will be given quotations for their car and be able to track any interested buyers.

Acquiring over 27,000 users has been one of Mr Sia’s “proudest moments” since starting the company four years ago.

“Most Singaporeans are strapped for time and do need help when it comes to vehicle management matters, especially if the person is a new car owner,” said Damian. “With the Motorist App, we hope car owners will have a simpler time managing their vehicles.”

“At the end of the day, we want to ease the many inconveniences (sic) that come with owning a vehicle. Whether it’s selling your car for the highest price, receiving notifications for important expiry dates, receiving advice when your car breaks down, or discovering your vehicle has been recalled, we at Motorist want to be there for you at (sic) your time of need.”

The company is looking at future developments, which will include Checkpoint jam updates, roadside assistance, and a rewards programme for drivers.

The app can be downloaded for free from Google Play and the App Store.
