On Tuesday, Mar 29, masking rules for Singaporeans were loosened, but given that they’re rather complicated, it may take a while before people get used to them.
A TikToker who goes by @dorachong_oe captured the vibe perfectly in a video that’s been viewed almost one million times.
@lyvia_health_oe 新加坡即将不用戴口罩了?!但是还是有些地方需要戴口罩的……3月29日起,人们在户外可以选择不戴口罩,但是室内任需强制戴口罩!#新加坡 #戴口罩 #无肉小姐姐
At the beginning of the clip, she rejoices, clapping her hands because “Now Singapore no need wear mask.”
This is true until you have to take a lift, where masks are still required.
But on the “walk walk walk” to the bus stop, no need to wear a mask.
However, while on the bus, you guessed it! You still need to wear a mask.
Alighting from the bus and walking to where you’re going? Yes! No mask is needed.
But for going shopping, yes, gotta put that “face cover” on again.
At restaurants, while waiting for your order, better keep that mask on.
When your food comes—duh—take your mask off.
“Oi, need mask, oi!,” @dorachong_oe shouts, seemingly at herself, before ending the video by saying, “‘Mask, no mask. Mask, no mask. Mask, no mask!”
Many of the commenters said, however, they’re likely to continue wearing masks, for a number of different reasons.
