Chicken rice, arguably Singapore’s most popular and best-beloved dish, is about to get costlier next month, with an export ban of chicken from Malaysia. Fans would be well-advised to get their fill ASAP.

Malaysian Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob said in a statement on Monday (May 23), “The government’s priority is our own people.” The ban, which takes effect on June 1, is to make sure that Malaysians have enough supply.

Leader of the Opposition Pritam Singh congratulated the Singaporean athletes who took part in this year’s South East Asian Games in Hanoi, Vietnam, which ended on Monday (May 23).

“Well done to all Team Singapore athletes for representing the country at the recently concluded SEA Games in Vietnam, and congratulations to all who surpassed yourself and brought glory to Singapore! Not everyone may have come home with a medal, but your attitude, sportsmanship and spirit counts for a lot,” the Workers’ Party head wrote in a May 23 Facebook post.

They say everything is bigger in Texas, and now we know that even small Texas kids have big ambitions! Last week, a 2-year-old boy made headlines when he took his mother’s phone and used it to order 31 cheeseburgers from DoorDash.

While that was a lot of burgers that the Texas kid ordered, and sure, he has a lifetime of supply of those now, the mom however says the son, Barrett accidentally ordered 31 McDonald’s cheeseburgers from DoorDash.

Big brands are venturing into strange territories, such as the Balenciaga rotten shoes on sale at unbelievable prices. Now is the time for brands like Gucci and Adidas to enter the fray too. And the BBC on its Instagram page made the point, saying that if you are choosing an umbrella, the one thing you might expect it to do is to be capable of keeping you dry…

But the Chinese social media networks are seeing a post about the Gucci-Adidas umbrella going viral with netizens attacking the brands for the ‘sun umbrella’ which costs 11,100 yuan (£1,329). On Weibo, a hashtag with the translation “the collaboration umbrella sold for 11,100 yuan is not waterproof” has received over 140 million views! Woof. That is a whopping amount of views for a simple, but colourful umbrella.

Fight between Indian & Chinese family after kids sprayed fire extinguisher chemical into eyes of children from the other family

An altercation between two families at a food court went viral, with many netizens viewing and weighing in on the incident. Two videos of the incident were posted on the Facebook and Instagram pages of Singapore Incidents on Sunday (May 22), and appear to have been taken from TikTok.

The first video shows different members of the families standing up and facing each other, and a raised female voice is heard, although her words are difficult to distinguish. The video reads, “The kids from the Indian family played with the fire extinguisher, then happen to spray into the eyes of the kids of the Chinese family on the opposite table.”
