S’porean man sexually abuses 6yo niece after making her watch porn, Netizens call for heavier penalties for sexual abuse of minors

Netizens react after a man gets 14 years’ jail out of a possible 20, a fine or caning for sexual abuse of his niece and called for heavier penalties, especially for those who abuse young victims.

This follows news of a man who sexually assaulted his niece, who was just six years old at the time. Reports said that the man was watching porn before sexually abusing his niece and repeated the act the next day.

AWARE, a gender equality advocacy group, shared on their social media platforms the story of a man who was sexually assaulted by a male masseuse while getting a message in 2010.

The man said the masseuse touched him inappropriately and asked him if he liked it. The man who was not identified in the video said that he did not know what to think or even if he should shout, and just froze.

A family has vowed never to patronise a restaurant along North Bridge Road after an alleged embarrassing incident followed by unprofessional behaviour from the staff. A Ms Agnes (not her real name) reached out to The Independent Singapore, noting they had eaten at Nan Hwa Chong Fish Head Steamboat on April 16.

At one point, Ms Agnes’s sister decided to use the washroom after their meal. Despite the door being locked, Ms Agnes’s sister was shocked to discover that a man successfully unlocked the door. “My sister was so embarrassed and went to approach the counter lady to ask her why the lock was faulty.”

Elderly woman rides PMD on busy Sengkang East Road, endangering self & others

A woman spotted riding an e-scooter along a busy road in Sengkang came so close to other road users that netizens got really worried.

“See how this auntie rides her PMD on the main road along Sengkang East Road. So dangerous without look out for cars traffic!” wrote Facebook user Edwin Fong in a post on April 18.

How far would you go on the road after an altercation on the road with another road user? A Mercedes driver gets caught on camera using his car to intimidate a food delivery rider after an incident that could have been the driver’s fault.

Facebook page ROADS.sg posted a video clip of what happened on Tuesday (April 19). “Mercedes did not give way to oncoming food delivery bike and caused an incident,” according to  ROADS.sg.
