One netizen took to the popular COMPLAINT Singapore Facebook page after she said she had a negative experience with a ComfortDelGro taxi driver.

Mandy Wong wrote in a June 11 post that she booked a taxi using the company’s app.

And when the driver called to say he was at the location she had indicated and asked where they were, Ms Wong realised the location she had keyed in using the Current Location function was not the correct one, but one that was in the next building.

Ms Wong then told the driver to wait as they would just walk over, since it was just nearby.

However, the driver responded saying he would come to them.

After Wong and her daughter had gotten into the taxi and they were already on the highway, the driver told them they would be made to pay a surcharge because of the wrong location for pick-up, which the driver did not mention when they boarded the cab.

“Although the building was just literally side by side to each other, driver said I will be charged additional $5 as an extra stop. So I replied saying its not extra stop but wrong address picked up by GPS and the building is just side by side next to each other and its not right to tell me only when we are on the highway!

Driver should have informed before driving off! Driver left me with no choice for me to cancel and rebook so I won’t be penalised by the surcharge as an additional stop! I told him my daughter just got out from a day surgical op and I didn’t realise the GPS picked up wrongly,” Ms Wong wrote.

She argued further that she had offered to go to the location the GPS showed, but the driver had refused.

But he kept insisting instead, “by right there is $5 charge.”

Ms Wong added that she agreed to pay for the “f***ing surcharge” as long as the driver would “just stop talking now so my gal can rest.”

However, things escalated when the driver called the company’s feedback number and complained that Ms Wong had threatened him.

“And said he now thinking to drive me to the police station cos he said I threaten him?!?!?! Like wth?!?!? I never knew f***ing the extra money which he left me with no choice but to pay is a threat?!?!? Wow.”

Tagging the ComfortDelGro Taxi Facebook account, Ms Wong wrote, “Is this our drivers here in Singapore now?”

She added, “you have just lost one loyal customer here who have always used your taxi services.”
