Singapore – A bus crashed into a taxi stand at Yishun MRT station on Saturday afternoon (Nov 6), resulting in the shelter collapsing on pedestrians.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) was alerted to a call for assistance on Yishun Avenue 2 at about 1 pm on Saturday.

“Upon SCDF’s arrival, a passenger bus was seen to have impacted against a taxi stand shelter, and the shelter had partially collapsed,” said SCDF, noting no one was trapped in the passenger bus.

The Singapore Police Force (SPF) confirmed that the 63-year-old bus captain and two female pedestrians, 60 and 64, were conveyed to the hospital while conscious.

Police investigations are ongoing, said SPF.

Photos and videos of the aftermath of the incident are circulating on WhatsApp.

SCDF personnel were seen attending to the affected pedestrians on the scene.

An eyewitness said two people were standing at the taxi stand when the incident occurred. A double-decker bus suddenly hit a pillar at the taxi stand, causing the pillar to fall and the top of the covered walkway to collapse.
