Two tigers on the loose caused panic in the Malaysian state of Terengganu, with one chasing a pregnant woman who was riding her motorbike and the other confronting a woman right at her door.

Villager, Suzana Mustafa, 26, got into a wild chase with a tiger when she was riding her motorbike to work.

“Luckily I managed to manoeuvre my motorcycle well when the tiger chased me for 300 metres,” she says according to New Straits Times.

She says the incident traumatised her, adding that she didn’t know what would have happened to her child had he fallen from the bike.

“I am scared to take that route to go to work. But that is the only route available,” she said to the Malaysian daily.

Another woman said she was confronted by a male tiger right after she opened her door. The tiger, fierce-looking, was staring at her right away.

“I saw the tiger’s genitals and I’m certain it was male,” she says to NST.

She came face to face with one of the two tigers that were spotted wondering around the village, Kampung Besul Lama, Bukit Besi yesterday.

She however claims she heard the tigers before in the forest which is behind her house but did not expect to come face to face with one.

The usually nocturnal tigers roamed along a road in the village in broad daylight.

The two tigers spotted strolling casually around the village yesterday are most probably someone’s pet, Terengganu Wildlife and National Parks Department (Perhilitan) director Dr Abdul Malek Mohd Yusof says.

A Facebook user, Adli Mohamed uploaded three pictures of the tigers, one leaning against a car and another resting under a tree.

He says in his posting that now he knows how it feels to experience escaping from dangerous animals on a motorcycle.
