Hardcore wrestling fan Kurt Tay summons ‘hater’ to fight in Yishun void deck, gets beaten up instead

A non-title match between self-declared WCW heavyweight champion Kurt Tay and his alleged hater was streamed live online, resulting in Tay’s unanimous loss and police appearance at the end.

The incident happened at Yishun MRT station, where Tay first met his opponent whom he called his hater.

“Okay, so he want to talk big, you know, say I got no balls to meet him,” said Kurt Tay in a live stream addressing his audience.

“Then he say, ‘Oh, he can finish me in three minutes’ time,'” said Tay. “So this hater has been talking s**t about me for the past few months. Okay, so I’m coming here right now.”

The video titled “WCW World🌎🌍Heavyweight Champion “The Icon “Kurtberg Fighting Hater Street Fight Live Video 5 July 2022” was uploaded on YouTube and eventually taken down. However, it was reshared on other social media accounts, including on a Hardwarezone forum.

Kurt Tay initially met with his opponent dressed in green and accompanied by another man. They suggested settling the score at the void deck.

“You want to go void deck? Go void deck for what?” asked Tay, although they eventually exited the station.

Tay’s opponent then handed him a document to read. It appears to be an indemnity form, releasing the opponent from any responsibility should Tay incur any injuries from the fight.

Before the fight started, Tay’s opponent removed his shoes while he positioned his camera to capture the event.

They shook hands, and the match “officially” began at the 7:30 mark of the video.

Tay was punched in the face, kicked in the stomach and thrown to the ground.

After regaining his stance, he tried diving for his opponent, but the man effortlessly pushed him back to the ground.

Based on the opponent’s footwork and fighting stance, he seems to know some form of martial arts.

After asking for a water break to catch his breath, a break to readjust his position for the camera and a few more punches and kicks, Tay admits defeat.

They shook hands, and Tay announced he had lost to his opponent.

Two police officers were also spotted at the scene, although it remains unclear if they were alerted to the incident.

Tay also commented on the Hardwarezone forum, noting the fight was “unfair.”

“I more than 5 years never do sparring already. D last time I do sparring is 5 years ago at MMA school while this Guy has been training regularly is not a fair fight. I should have few months training before d actual fight (sic).”

According to another post on Hardwarezone on July 6, Tay and his opponent were called to assist with police investigations after the fight. /TISG
