TikToker Maddy Breteche posted about her experience getting her passport renewed in Malaysia, where she was asked to remove her eyelash extensions or come back another day, or cut them off.

In a TikTok video and Instagram reel, the Malaysian-French actress residing and working in Singapore and Malaysia shared that she went in with minimal makeup because “I know they’re (immigration officers) quite like weird… about putting makeup on”.

Shortly after, she posted: “You’re wondering why I’m holding a pair of scissors. They (immigration officers) took one look at my face, and they’re like your eyelash extensions are too long”. She added that she was told to either come back another day or cut her eyelashes herself.

“then I cut lah” she said, because she needed her passport that day as she was flying off the next.

After cutting her eyelashes, she said in her video, she could not believe that she got her passport in 30 minutes.

She then adds: “So I’m sitting there in the chair right, and then the officer goes ‘wearing lens kah?'” asking her if she was wearing contact lenses. She added that her (eye) degree was very high and when the officer told her to take off her contact lens, she refused.

“So then I have to stick my finger in my eye to prove that it’s not a colour contact (lens)” she said.
