Singapore woman’s expat husband runs away after growing tired of ‘Asian life and family life’ but returns to his wife & son 8 years later

When her husband, who ran away 8 years ago, returned, a local woman and her son decided that they no longer needed the man.

In an anonymous post to popular confessions page SGWhispers, a woman who just wanted to tell her story said that she was married to a “foreign man”.

26-year-old man earning $25K/month, driving “humble car” wants to find significant other with same frequency

A 26-year-old man earning about $20,000 to $25,000 monthly wanted to find “a significant other with the same frequency”.

In an anonymous post on confessions page SGWhispers, the man wrote that he had been single for about five years now and had two income streams. He added that he did not own any branded goods and drove a humble car.

After Grab, now Gojek: $3 waiting fee, shorter grace period; Netizens ask ‘if driver late can we get same amount refund?’

 

In a move that appears to follow a similar one made by Grab a few months ago, Gojek announced on Monday (Sept 18) that it will reduce its grace period for cancellations as well as impose new waiting fees.

From Sept 26 onward, the grace period for cancellations, which was previously five minutes, will be reduced to four minutes.

‘How about adults who talk loudly?’ — Singaporeans call for “Screaming Children Surcharge” fine also for loud adults in public spaces

In response to news of a Singaporean restaurant imposing a surcharge of S$10 on customers with noisy children who disturb other customers in the establishment, people are calling for the same fine to be imposed on adults who speak too loudly and contribute to “noise pollution” in public spaces.

In recent news, a restaurant in Tan Boon Liat called Angie’s Oyster Bar & Grill, has made one thing clear–though children are more than welcome to dine in the establishment with their parents, children who disturb other customers will not be tolerated. Thus, it has implemented a “Screaming Children Surcharge” of S$10 for customers with “screaming or uncontrolled children disturbing other guests.”

An online user has shared a nostalgic photo capturing a moment in time way back in 1960 Singapore.

An individual on Tuesday (Sept 20) shared a vintage photo of Singapore in an online forum for throwbacks. The faded picture featured an ice cream man and three little girls happily getting their street ice cream fix. “Checking out what flavours the ice cream man has to sell,” the caption read, “Singapore in the 1960s.”
