Hong Kong — It appears that Alice Ho, the youngest daughter of the late casino king Stanley Ho will be putting her showbiz plans on the back burner.
Alice, 22 has just graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and she is now enrolled on Beijing’s prestigious Tsinghua University as a postgraduate student.
Tsinghua University shared photos of its opening ceremony for the academic year on Weibo earlier this week, and one of the photos featured Alice.
Her elder brother, Mario Ho, 26 reposted the photos on his Weibo to congratulate her.
“Congratulations to the girl called Alice Ho on the left in the ninth pic. You have worked tirelessly to be admitted to Tsinghua University as a postgraduate student. Our whole family is very proud of you. What a rare opportunity it is to be able to study at Tsinghua University, you must cherish it, and more importantly, you must study hard,” he wrote.
The comment section was flooded by netizens giving congratulatory messages and marvelling at Alice’s achievements, as reported by 8days.sg.
There were comments like “She is really outstanding and hardworking”, “A family of smarts” and “Work hard and you will reap the rewards, and wish little sis will become better and better!”
Alice and Mario are academically gifted. They have two older siblings, Sabrina, 30 and Arnaldo, 28 and their mother is Stanley’s fourth wife, Angela Leong.
Alice has always been doing well in school and she is always motivated and hardworking.
The youngest daughter of Stanley graduated from MIT with a double major in management and architecture and was admitted to Schwarzman College at Tsinghua University. As a Schwarzman scholar, she will pursue a master’s degree in Chinese Public Policy.
Her brother, Mario is just as brilliant too. Though he was accepted into Cambridge (or so he claims), he chose to study at MIT instead and became the youngest graduate of the school’s Master of Finance programme.
Born Nov 25, 1921, Stanley Ho Hung-sun was a Hong Kong-Macau billionaire businessman. His original patrilineal surname was Bosman, which was later sinicized to 何 (Ho).
He was of Dutch-Jewish, English and Chinese ancestry. He was the founder and chairman of SJM Holdings, which owns nineteen casinos in Macau including the Grand Lisboa. /TISG
