Malaysia — Malaysia’s top songstress Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza had made the decision to hire a nanny with a background in teaching to help with the development of her daughter Siti Aafiyah.

The singer revealed that as a parent she was concerned about the development of her 3-year-old daughter who has not been able to live a normal life after being stuck at home due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

“It’s not easy to ensure proper development in line with her age during this pandemic. Even though I frequently spend time with Aafiyah at home it still isn’t adequate enough.

There was once when I brought her out in a car ride and I was surprised when she was so excited to see the many cars and street lights. Maybe she was stuck at home for too long so she had fun.

After Aafiyah’s nanny Dayah resigned, I was looking to hire a new helper who would also be a teacher. So Aafiyah can spend her time at home doing all sorts of activities aside from learning many new things,” she said in a Harian Metro news report yesterday.

Siti also added that she saw a silver lining in getting to spend more time with her second child, Muhammad Afwa, despite the negative effects of the Covid-19 pandemic on creative and business activities, as reported by New Straits Times.

“Alhamdulillah, Afwa is now a five-month-old baby. Even though we’ve been affected by the pandemic, I am very grateful to be able to see him grow in front of my eyes.

“Before this, I would be back home by late afternoon and the day would have gone by without me seeing my children. But now I get to shower my full attention on them.

“After I’m done with virtual meetings, I can always easily see how they’re doing and care for them,” she said. /TISG
