Jamus Lim plays ‘Sengkang Claus’ for Christmas and back-to-school event

Singapore — Workers’ Party Member of Parliament Jamus Lim, together with party volunteers, brought joy to some children by playing “Sengkang Claus” and distributing back-to-school packs.

“This weekend, our trusty #TeamSengkang volunteers organized our annual Christmas and back-to-school event, where we gave out book vouchers, cookies, child-sized masks, and other small gifts to school-aged children at our rental block in #Anchorvale.

Should Singaporeans trust the parliamentary Committee of Privileges?

Every night for the past two weeks, Singaporeans watched as the Committee of Privileges investigated Raeesah Khan, formerly MP for Sengkang GRC and leading members of her former political party, for lying in Parliament.

Is the Committee of Privileges politically motivated? Is this investigation a witch hunt and a prelude to “fix the opposition”?

PM Lee acknowledges difficulties foreigners in SG faced due to pandemic in message celebrating school’s jubilee

Singapore — UWC South East Asia celebrated its 50th year on Dec 15, having been opened by founding Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew in 1971 on Dover Road.

The location where the former St John’s British Army School had stood was chosen by Mr Lee and others among the country’s founders as the site of a school for the children of expatriates “in a strategic move designed to support the economic development of a newly-independent Singapore.”

Open Letter: Does town council chairman really know what’s happening on the ground?

Pasir Ris-Punggol Town Council

Dear Chairman Taha,

I refer to my feedback to the People’s Association 5 years ago, as well as numerous recent ones, on the exclusion of ‘RC’ in numerous precinct markers.

It is not known how RC chairmen could have blundered; worse, it was totally silly of the Pasir Ris-Punggol Town Council to follow instructions blindly.

Singapore — A 21-year-old Singaporean man may soon be made to pay a heavy price for his online behaviour over the past three years.

Between 2018 and 2019, Sun Sicong posted content on Instagram Stories that allegedly contained anti-Islam remarks.
