Grab, which quickly established dominance in many parts of South East Asia, has yet to find the same sure footing in Indonesia, the region’s biggest economy.
Instead, the GoTo Group is still in the lead among the 270 Indonesians, many of whom regularly choose Gojek for ride-hailing and Tokopedia for e-commerce over Grab’s options.

A foreign domestic worker who did not get a day off for the first six months of her employment asked others for advice on what to do.
In her anonymous post, the helper seemed resigned to her lack of rest day but asked other helpers and employers what she should do for a haircut. In her post to Facebook group FDW in Singapore (working conditions forum), the helper wrote anonymously: “Hi there, I’m keen to find out how do most of you settle your haircut if you still do not have day off during the first 6 months”.
Court of Appeal dismisses TOC’s Terry Xu’s bid to stop contempt of court proceedings
A bid filed by Terry Xu, the editor-in-chief of The Online Citizen (TOC) to stop the Attorney-General from continuing with contempt of court proceedings against him was dismissed by the Court of Appeal on Thursday (Aug 25).
Mr Xu was represented in court by opposition leader Lim Tean, who called the dismissal “a very disappointing decision” in a Facebook post late Thursday night.

Sri Eha Santika Sari, 29, was seen on camera, among other things, pulling the baby’s hair and hitting her. She pleaded guilty to assault.

Workers’ Party chief Pritam Singh brought up a number of “ground realities” in his latest Facebook post, including a hoarding problem of an Eunos resident and the fire hazard it may cause, as well as workplace deaths among foreign workers.
Mr Singh, the Leader of the Opposition and MP for Aljunied GRC, said that he had personally talked to the resident regarding the hoarding issue.
