Johor Bahru – Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim, Johor’s Crown Prince, announced on social media that he had tested positive for Covid-19 and had recovered from the infection.

Through a series of Instagram stories on Friday (Oct 22), Mr Tunku Ismail revealed that he tested positive for the virus.

He uploaded a photo of himself on a bed, making a thumbs-up sign. The caption read, “few days ago.”

He noted in his other posts that he has recovered after two weeks of rest.

“Few weeks of down time physically and psychologically. Thank you for the well wishes,” said Mr Tunku Ismail.

In an Instagram post on Saturday (Oct 23), Mr Tunku Ismail wrote, “The Tiger is back!”

Members from the online community commented on the post, wishing the crown prince good health.

“Wish TMJ good health constantly. Hope he is able to continue leading Johor and serve as an inspiration to the rest of the people,” said Instagram user kamlkaze_vlc.

According to Malaysia’s Ministry of Health, 5,828 new Covid-19 cases were reported on Saturday.

Meanwhile, 72.4 per cent of the country’s population has been fully vaccinated against Covid-19. While 77.6 per cent has received at least one dose of the vaccine./TISG
