Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson has reclaimed his spot as Hollywood’s highest-paid actor after a blockbuster year that has placed him ahead of the likes of Chris Hemsworth, Robert Downey Jr and Will Smith.

The 47-year-old actor who recently tied the knot topped Forbes’ list of the richest actors in Hollywood, with the publication estimating that Dwayne has earned a staggering $89.4 million (SGD123 million) in the past year alone.

This is probably due to whopping salaries from big-budget movies like Fast & Furious spin-off Hobbs & Shaw and Skycraper while Dwayne also has production credits on movies like Shazam! and Fighting With My Family.

He is not slowing down anytime soon as he will be in Jumanji: The Next Level before the year is out, alongside Kevin Hart and Jack Black.

Movies aren’t his only bread and butter as Dwayne has a number of endorsement deals such as sportswear brand Under Armour.

This is the second time Dwayne has been named the highest paid-actor after claiming the top spot back in 2016.

The last two years saw him slip into second place.

Chris Hemsworth takes the second spot this year with earnings of $76.4 million (SGD106 million) thanks to major appearances as Thor in Avengers:Endgame and Men In Black: International alongside his bestie Tessa Thompson.

Former reigning highest-paid champ Robert Downey Jr is sitting pretty in third place with $66 million (SGD91 million) following his final appearance as Iron Man in Avengers:Endgame.

Bradley Cooper has re-entered the top 10 for the first time since 2015 after his immense success with A Star Is Born, which he directed, co-produced, co-wrote and starred in alongside Lady Gaga earning a best picture nomination at the Oscars.

His earnings from the past year are estimated at $57 million (SGD79 million), placing him jointly with Adam Sandler, whose income was likely boosted from the popularity of Netflix movie Murder Mystery.

Will Smith closes off the top 10 with a cool $35 million (SGD48 million) following his role as the Genie in Disney’s Aladdin live-action reboot. -/TISG
