SINGAPORE: A BMW’s hood suddenly caught fire outside the Concorde Hotel on Orchard Road on Nov 3, sending thick black smoke billowing into the sky and reaching the eighth floor of a nearby office building.

Case details revealed that a 50-year-old woman noticed black smoke entering her office on the eighth floor of Orchard Tower. When she went to investigate, she discovered that the hood of a sedan was on fire.

“After the black smoke drifted into the office, I felt discomfort in my nose and throat, so I could only close the windows and open the office door to let the smoke dissipate slowly,” the witness said, Shin Min Daily News reported.

Fortunately, two fire trucks and three police cars were dispatched to the scene, and the fire was extinguished. When reporters visited the site, they saw authorities using water cannons to put out the blaze. The car’s hood was severely burned, while its bumper was almost completely melted.
