Blackpink Singapore concert tickets have been sold out in less than a day and have now resurfaced on the Carousell e-commerce platform at nearly 10 times the original price.
One of the biggest K-Pop girl groups today, Blackpink is coming to Singapore on May 13, 2023.
Blackpink Singapore concert tickets sold on Ticketmaster, promoted by Live Nation SG, ranged from S$168 (Categories 9 & 10) to S$398, which gives fans access to Category 1 seating at the National Stadium. A quick look at Carousell shows multiple listings of the Born Pink tickets that are being sold for over a thousand dollars. From S$398 a ticket, Category 1 seats fetched between S$1,200 and S$2,200.
One listing for VIP tickets was as high as S$3,500, nearly 10 times the original price.
Still, the resellers are receiving a sweet profit. One reseller sold six tickets for S$1,100 each and wrote, “Will update soon with more tickets.”
Netizens commented on the risks of paying a premium on such tickets. “Obviously, these people don’t know that concerts can be cancelled and the organisers will return the original ticket amount to the buyer’s credit card. So these people who pay a premium for these tickets will never get it back if the concert is cancelled,” explained Facebook user Chung Teck Heng.
Many added that for S$3,500, they could already afford a holiday abroad.
Ticketmaster also warns the public against purchasing Blackpink Singapore concert tickets from unauthorised sellers.
“We would like to caution members of the public against purchasing tickets from unauthorised sellers or 3rd party websites. By purchasing tickets through these non-authorised points of sale, buyers take on the risk that the validity of the tickets cannot be guaranteed, with no refunds possible.” /TISG
