A TikTok video of a seemingly enraged customer at an ice cream shop in Ang Mo Kio went viral earlier this week, getting nearly half a million views.
At the beginning of the video, he slams down a dish of cornflakes ice cream near some of the staff of Heartbreak Melts at 421 Ang Mo Kio Avenue 10, aggressively demanding to know who made it.
A staffer, who says she is the boss, comes forward and asks him what his issue is with the ice cream. “Taste it,” he tells her. “Taste the ice cream now. You taste it and tell me what’s wrong with it.” She goes on to get a spoonful of ice cream from the shop’s main container, but the customer loudly insists that she taste his dish. Coming around to face him, she asks, “What’s wrong with it?”

“It’s f**king good!!” he tells her. “It is f**king good!!”
The owner of the shop then bursts into laughter, while the woman tells the customer not to scare her.
@tanyenjue tells the boss how good the ice cream is again, and pointing to the camera, says “You tell them how you made it”.
The boss then gives the customer a standing ovation, and tells him, “Your acting is very good.”
The ice cream was hand stirred by the boss himself, who also said that it’s vegan, as it’s oat-milk based.
“I Yishun run all the way down to Ang Mo Kio to eat the plate ahhh…” @tanyenjue replies. “Nice to eat ah!!”
The two end up taking a photo together in front of the shop, all smiles, and thumbs up.
Indeed, judging from a video from the café itself, the ice cream looks superb (and keeps getting sold out).
@heartbreakmelts Corny cornflakes, available again now this week (13th September 2022), it keeps getting sold out every time we sell it. #HeartbreakMelts #SGFood #SGCafe #SingaporeTrending
According to AsiaOne, the co-owner of Heartbreak Melts who was there on the day of @tanyenjue’s meltdown is Mr Goh Yong Wei, who is a friend of the customer, and wanted to help promote Heartbreak Melts.
But the surprise of the staff at @tanyenjue’s antics is genuine, as they had no idea what was going on when he had his “tantrum”.
AsiaOne also quotes him as saying he doesn’t endorse such pranks as they could “scare the staff and encourage rude and rowdy customers to engage in such behaviour,” adding that he hopes “no one else imitate this”. /TISG
