Singapore — He led everyone to believe “she” was his childhood idol, then they were “university sweethearts”.

And then, five years ago, actor Desmond Tan apparently proposed. But to whom?

A newlywed at the untender age of 35, actor Desmond Tan is in France on honeymoon with his wife.

But no wedding pictures have surfaced.

Then came what promised to be The Great Reveal on Dec 18, as the 8 Days website reported. Tan posted a video on Instagram.  But the woman in the video is former TV host and actor Sharon Au, 46, whom he addresses as “Sis”.

And she is not the bride.

“THE REVEAL……. she’s none other than…. My childhood idol @sharonau13 [Sharon Au] (sic),” Tan wrote in his caption.

Tan then thanks Au, who is based in Paris and works with a private equity firm, for “being a wonderful host”.

In fact, she invited the newlyweds to “one of the best restaurants in town” for a meal.

“I received so many texts after Desmond’s huge REVEAL post on Instagram. Thank you for all the (confused) congratulatory messages. I am indeed the luckiest woman in the world. Lucky because I got to meet the real Mrs Tan!” she exclaimed.

Au wrote: “She is so beautiful and indeed Desmond, you cannot NOT marry this divine angel, who has been your pillar for more than a decade, way before you became one of Singapore’s most prominent, stylish and admired actors, when you were still scrawny and had shaggy hair. You two are the perfect golden couple and may God bless you through all the ups and downs, may you continue to be there for each other, no matter what life throws your way.”
