Man arrested for aggravated outrage of modesty within 24 Hours

The Police have arrested a 34-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of Aggravated Outrage of Modesty along Tampines Street 81.

On 9 April 2017 at about 11.19am, a 24-year-old woman reported to the Police that she had been molested by a man.

Upon receipt of the report, officers from Bedok Division conducted extensive ground enquiries, and viewed footages from the Police cameras and CCTVs in the area. The officers’ persistence paid off when they established the identity of the suspect and arrested him along Tampines Street 81 on 10 April 2017.

Investigations are ongoing. Anyone convicted for the offence of Aggravated Outrage of Modesty under Section 354A(1) of the Penal Code, Chapter 224 is liable for a jail term of not less than 2 years and not more than 10 years and with caning upon conviction.
