Facebook user Nesh Gobynath is upset that some who are observing the Hungry Ghost Month are littering and burning their joss papers indiscriminately. The user said that he respects the believers’ rights to celebrate their festivals, but asked that they did it in a considerate manner.

He captioned his video: “So NEA decided to take a break today? Try dropping a cigarette butt you’ll see a Certis officer in half uniform coming up to you for littering. So ghost month can litter & burn anywhere?

Guys let’s make some things clear here. I’m not creating a racial dispute here I’m just not happy with the laws and rights of doings in this country. So let’s not get too technical in being a Hindu, Malay or a Chinese.

U wanna burn papers go ahead we respect yr religious beliefs but do it properly at designated areas and bins given not all over the place and create a hell lot of a mess.”

With over 1,000 shares Nesh’s video has gone viral.
