SINGAPORE: The “secret” IKEA photo booth is a secret no more. If you pay a visit to the branch in Alexandra and make your way to the section where the photo frames are, you’ll find a snap-and-print kiosk. The best part is that for as little as 50 cents, you can bring home a custom-designed photo… one with a roast chicken dinner sticker, if you like!
A popular addition to the already popular home furnishing and design store, the photo booth was seen a few months ago in IKEA Indonesia, and the feature went viral on TikTok.

And now, it’s in Singapore! One local user on the platform called it “the cheapest photo booth in SG”. The TikToker pointed out that customers may choose the size of the photo they want and can either take pictures there and then (which means you can’t visit IKEA Alexandra on a bad hair day) or upload their photos via a posted QR code.
You can choose as many as 10 photos and add a filter. PLUS, photo booth users have the option of uploading IKEA-themed stickers, and there are many adorable ones you can choose from, including the aforementioned chicken meal plus the truly iconic IKEA meatballs. After paying digitally and a short wait, your photos will be ready.
“Controversial but the best date spot is always at IKEA,” wrote a TikTok user whose post went viral. Another agreed with this, saying that she had her “next date idea settled ✅ get the $0.50 ice cream and $1 hotdog bun after too hehe.”

However, forewarned is forearmed, as the saying goes, and it’s best to know everything about the photo booth before actually going. There are three sizes and prices to choose from: 10cm x 15cm for S$0.50, 13cm x 18cm for S$1, and 21cm x 30cm for S$2.

Warning, the trend seems to be catching on FAST, and so be prepared for a long queue if you get there during peak hours, weekends, or holidays.
