If you’ve ever wanted to see the Law and Home Affairs Minister do some serious heavy lifting, you’ll have a chance to do so later this month.

K Shanmugam is not only participating in the Chong Pang Fitness Fiesta 2022 on Nov 27, but he said in a video posted on his Facebook page that he’ll try to lift weights that are heavier than before.

Appearing with his trainer, David, the Minister said in the video, “To encourage more people to come and watch and take part, I’ve said I’m going to try and break my personal best of 105 kilograms.”

Mr Shanmugam represents the Chong Pang ward in Parliament (PAP-Nee Soon GRC).

He added that he has been staying healthy and that he’s been “training with David for 3 years now (with breaks in between, because of Covid). Have focused on strength training.”

The public is welcome to witness and participate in the event, with tickets priced at a reasonable $5 per person.
