After two years of Covid-19, many Singaporeans are no doubt excited about the return of the F1 Singapore Grand Prix season from Sept 30 to Oct 2.
The least expensive event is the Zone 4 Walkabout at 3pm on Sept 30 (Friday). Tickets for this practice race are selling at $98.
The most expensive single-day ticket is for the race itself at the Pit Grandstand on Oct 2 (Sunday), costing S$988. Unfortunately, all the single Pit Grandstand tickets for Sept 30, Oct 1 & 2 are sold out, as well as the three-day bundles for adults and minors.
The good news is that new tickets for the Pit Entry Grandstand for the three event days were recently opened and cost $1,288.
Those who wouldn’t have minded shelling out more could have availed of drink-all-you-can and all-gallery-access hospitality packages, which cost from S$1,605 to a whopping S$9,898.
However, the F1 Singapore Grand Prix site says that “Due to overwhelming demand, all hospitality packages are now fully taken up.”
And those who booked hotels just for the F1 Singapore Grand Prix will have noticed that prices are more expensive than usual. Bloomberg reported last week that room prices reached over US$2,000 (S$2,800) per night in top hotels in anticipation not only for F1 but also for the SuperReturn summit.
That is, again, if rooms are still available.
At the Ritz-Carlton Millenia Singapore, hotel room prices, which normally start at S$650 a night, are going from S$1,700 to S$2,000 per night for the F1 weekend, Insider reported.
Earlier this month, Bloomberg said that hotel room prices in Singapore are the highest they’ve been in ten years, ranging from S$259 per night on average.
And after the race events come to the big parties, which also cost a pretty penny.
An $80 ticket will get you into Marina Bay Sands’ Marquee, where you can party with DJ Steve Aoki (on Sept 30) or Afrojack (Oct 1).
Or you could head to Fullerton Bay Hotel’s The Clifford Pier, where Amber Lounge’s ultra-luxe GPSS night race afterparty will be unveiling its pop-up location.
The “legendary” Amber Lounge race weekend afterparties are held “at key destinations around the world, including Monaco and Abu Dhabi,” and in Singapore, one special draw is the launching of “‘Amber X’, the world’s first global luxe lifestyle events NFT memberships.”
Passes range from S$800 to S$1,200, but bigger groups are willing to shell out S$45,000 for a VIP suite including vodka, caviar, and champagne.
Or, F1 fans may head to the MBS convention centre for the Mandala Weekender party, where tickets are priced at S$148 a pop.
Insider added that there are a number of F&B joints with F1-themed offerings that can also set you back hundreds of dollars, including Cé La Vi Singapore (S$300), LAVO (S$248), and La Brasserie (S$238).
