A kind GrabFood delivery rider surprised the staff of Thai Dynasty outlet at Yew Tee Square with an unbelievably generous $600 tip!

A photo of the tip as well as a note from the rider, Mr Jesse, was posted on the Facebook and Instagram pages of Thai Dynasty on Monday (Sept 12).

In the note, Mr Jesse said he was very happy with Thai Dynasty’s food and “friendly customer service”.

He added that the food and ice tea are delicious; that he sees them all working so hard, and that he has empathy for them.

“Working is not easy, and I understand that because I am also working,” Mr Jesse wrote.

He said that when he sometimes has a bad day, he stops by after work and the food at Thai Dynasty makes him “happy again.”

His family likes the food there as well, he added.

“Therefore, I want to thank you all for the good food and I want to help you all. Here inside is $600, for all of you. Share it among yourselves and I hope this helps all of you.”

In its post, Thai Dynasty thanked the delivery rider as well, writing:

Dear Jesse, we are really thankful for your kind appreciation to our staff. It was truly shocking and a first for us to receive this from a @grabfoodsg rider. Our team @ Yew Tee Square were really grateful for your gesture. We will continue to do our best to serve our customers!”

The money has since been returned to Jesse, the post added.

“Boss say will buy the team a good meal instead.”

Mr Jesse’s generous act took place last Sunday, Sept 11.

Thai Dynasty’s director, Mr Jason Pay, told the media that the stall staff have seen Mr Jesse in the past, but they had no idea he would leave such a generous tip.

He also said that it was the staff themselves who chose to return the tip to the rider, for which he was gratified.

Mr Pay has since treated the staff to a lunch of pizza and other goodies the day after the incident. /TISG
