A KFC employee allegedly refused to give water to a family, resulting in the family’s Father’s Day dinner getting ruined. The Facebook page Complaint Singapore member said that they ordered a 15-piece chicken bucket for the family of six and asked for seven cups of plain water as they didn’t want to drink “fizzy soft drinks.”

“My seven-year-old son accidentally spilt one cup, and I went to ask for another cup,” said the netizen. However, the staff member he asked allegedly refused. “I already gave you seven cups of water; I cannot give you another cup, you need to buy the soft drinks,” the woman said. “Her attitude was rude and loud. I was stunned!” said the customer in the post.

Despite explaining that his son accidentally spilt the water, the woman still refused to replace the cup.

“I walked back disappointed, and the happy dinner was completely ruined,” he added.

The father felt unhappy about what just happened, so he went back to the staff and asked for her name, as he wanted to let management know about the incident.

“Why do you want to know my name? Why do you want to know? Anything tell my manager,” she replied.

The only saving grace was that the assistant manager was understanding and apologised, said the father.

“Seriously, how much does a small cup of plain water cost the restaurant?” he asked, still unable to wrap his mind around the staff’s reaction.

“My son was sad that his accidental spillage had caused the happy dining experience to be ruined completely,” said the father.

Since the woman refused to give her name, he noted that she was Malay. The incident happened at KFC Toa Payoh branch at about 8:30 pm.

“And I did scold my son for being careless for spilling the water,” he added in an update to the post that has since been removed. /TISG
