Netizens call out Certis Cisco officer who beats red light, makes illegal turn from wrong lane

A Certis Cisco officer was caught on camera making an illegal turn from the wrong lane and beating a red light, sparking calls from the online community to take him to task.

“Whatever the reason, he made this illegal turn from a wrong lane and also beating the red light,” according to  Facebook page ROADS.sg in a post on Wednesday (Feb 23). It included a video of the incident.

The video begins with a dashcam recording the scene from a car stopped at an intersection. The car was heading towards Bedok Reservoir Road at around 10am.

The officer proceeds to cut into the path of an SBS Transit bus next to him before making a left turn despite the traffic lights showing red.

“He forgot he is wearing (a) uniform and riding a Singapore-registered motorcycle,” said a netizen on the riders blatant disregard of traffic rules.

Members of the online community said that the Certis Cisco officer should be severely punished for his actions.

“For showing utter disrespect for the law that he should be upholding, he should be severely punished by TP (Traffic Police). Hope TP investigates this offender,” said a Facebook user.

Another netizen commented, “Whatever reason, what he did was wrong. Certis should take necessary action against the officer. Whatever the action taken by traffic authorities is not enough…the Certis took too further offence most likely to terminate the officer.”

Another concerned individual urged the cam car driver to file a police report. “I have submitted a police report of police driving while using handphone. The investigating officer said the police officer was punished.”/TISG
