The police told mothership.sg, ”On Oct 24, 2021, at 8.15 pm, the police were alerted to a fight at 60 Paya Lebar Road.

Police investigations are ongoing.”

Fights have not been uncommon of late, as prolonged difficulties due to the pandemic have caused tempers to easily flare.

Last month saw at least two fights that made the news.

On Sept 8, an argument over a vacant seat at a coffee shop quickly transitioned into a fistfight among elderly men.

A video of the incident, shared by Instagram page SgfollowsAll on Thursday (Sept 9), began with a 60-year-old uncle addressing a father, 80, and his son while standing on a vacant seat. He was making wild gestures at the father wearing a cream shirt and had his face mask lowered. The father refused to back down as the other uncle continued his tirade.

Another man in grey, identified as the 80-year-old’s son, soon came to his defence.

“Don’t bully old people,” the son advised the uncle.

However, the two men took no heed of the advice and hurled vulgarities at one another. The uncle then stood on the table and began hitting the son. While the son tried to defend himself, his father slapped the uncle on the table from behind.

And in another incident, the violence in a fight that broke out on the MRT sent other passengers scurrying away as two men brawled, knocking each other to the ground and onto the seats.

The fight was uploaded on the Kuanyewism Facebook page on Sept 25, where it has since gone viral. /TISG
