Driving up to Malaysia?

Stories of Singapore motorists trying to escape traffic summonses by offering bribes to Malaysian police officers are common. Well, if you are one of those who intend to go that path, better check your instincts.
Three Singaporeans  have been convicted in a Johor Baru court with offering bribes to enforcement officers. Two of them — Segaran Naidu, 58, and Shaik Mohamed Shaikh  Zain, 69 — were each jailed one day and fined 10,000 ringgit.
Segaran was caught while trying to offer a bribe of 100 ringgit and Shaikh Mohamad was booked when he tried to give 50 ringgit. The third man, Lee Mong Seng, 70, allegedly tried to grease the palm of an officer with a S$200 gift. He pleaded not guilty and was released on 10,000 ringgit bail
Moral  of story: Don’t do things in other countries that you won’t do in your country.
