Local aesthetic doctor defends his mother after David Gann fires back at former’s rude comments about Fann Wong

Singapore – Local aesthetic doctor swoops in to defend his mother after celebrity hairstylist David Gan fired back at his rude comments about actress Fann Wong’s cheek fillers in a now-deleted article.

In case you missed it, the doctor dedicated a blog post criticising actress Fann Wong’s appearance at this year’s Star Awards.

Gan, who’s also the actress’s close friend, went on Instagram to express his frustration about the doctor’s lack of knowledge about Wong with a post (see below) before he continued with a series of stories.

According to Mothership.sg’s report, a particular sentence caught the doctor’s attention – saying: “If your mother stand in the limelight you think will look like princess meh? Will look like Sadako right? NB! Please ah! Don’t make me explode hor! 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄”

On May 18, the doctor took a subtle hit back at Gan with a new article titled “Only Do Treatments on Your Patients That You Would Do for Your Mother” as he shared a little backstory about his childhood.

His story started off about how his mother worked two jobs as a nightclub waitress and cashier to take care of their family. It was back in the day after his father was unfortunately, retrenched.

He added that his mother would leave him at 7pm and finish work at 3am, rest until 6am to take care of them.

The doctor noted that the many years of little sleep and neglect led her skin to age quickly.

It was only in the late 2000s that he decided to start his practice – and his first patient was no other than his mother.

She underwent almost every procedure he had learned, from thread lifts, fillers, botox to chemical peels – which left her face bruised and puffy. Not to mention, she endured a lot of pain and severe dimpling due because the procedure wasn’t executed properly.

However, it didn’t stop there – his mother continued being his guinea pig despite the side effects.

Long story short, the doctor thanked his mom for all that she’s done for their family. After publishing the article on social media, the doctor didn’t keep it lowkey.

He refenced Gan’s rant as he added: “Back in the day, she was so exhausted that she would literally crawl home from work, dishevelled hair and all — that’s perhaps all the resemblance she had with Sadako. Today, I am pretty sure that even when she is placed in the spotlight, she looks prettier than Sadako. 🤣”
