Man accuses nurse at Tan Tock Seng hospital of giving his mother wrong injection

A man took to Facebook accusing a nurse at Tan Tock Seng hospital of giving his elderly mother the wrong injection.

In a Facebook post on Saturday (June 22) that has since been removed, the netizen alleged that the nurse “injected the wrong fluid into (his) mum body accidentally ; caused her to dehydrate”. He added that the doctor merely apologised for the mistake.

The man also complained that they had an appointment with a lung specialist at 11.30am. However, he wrote that after waiting for more than an hour, he decided to leave with his mother.

He added that even when he called the specialist at 1.12pm that day, the specialist said that she was busy and could not arrive on time.

Another point he griped about was how “Nurse poked needle 5,6 times to draw blood and failed. My mum asked why like this and her answer was she is inexperienced and no (sic) very good at it”.

The netizen removed his first Facebook post at the behest of hospital staff, but then put up a second Facebook post on June 23.

In his second Facebook post, now also removed, he alleged a fourth instance of improper treatment by hospital staff, as well as their request for him to take down his Facebook post.

He wrote that despite complaining and receiving an apology from staff, no action was taken to administer medication to the swelling.
