Windows down, two ‘xia suay S’poreans’ stop in the middle of the road to argue, blocking traffic

Singapore ― Two drivers were seen arguing loudly in the middle of the road, causing a disturbance for other road users.

Facebook page Beh Chia Lor – Singapore Road uploaded a video on Friday (Oct 1) of two motorists in the middle of an altercation while in the middle of the road.

“Drivers wind down their windows and argue loudly, all while they keep stopping and moving their vehicles blocking traffic just to continue shouting at each other,” read the caption.

The video began with the two men already arguing.

The altercation continued even though the vehicle with the passenger recording the scene moved forward.

The other driver moved forward, removed his mask, and continued shouting and pointing.

Members from the online community poked fun at the altercation, noting the two drivers were asking excitedly how each other’s mother was doing.

“For the benefit of those who don’t understand Hokkien~ both drivers are asking how’s is their mother doing. I “KAN” in Chinese is I see. Conclusion~ they are long lost relatives,” said Facebook user Betta Leong.

“Oh…No wonder they were so excited when see each other on the road despite the others horning. Interesting culture here,” said another netizen, adding to the thread.

When asked what the other vulgarities heard in the video meant, Betta Leong responded with, “Meaning ‘your mother is very old like a chicken’ but what flavour I don’t know.”

“It’s normal nowadays. They just sending regards to their mum,” added Facebook user Jason Chung.

Meanwhile, others highlighted the dangerous behaviour portrayed by the drivers. They advised parking to the side and continuing the altercation instead of risking the safety of road users. /TISG
