The People’s Action Party (PAP) recently posted a video that highlighted key points of Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong’s speech at the People’s Action Party Conference and Awards 2022.

On Monday (Nov 14), the PAP published a video that captured highlights of Mr Lee’s address at the awards ceremony. His speech had five key points; the first of which was that the ruling party has delivered on its promises. “When we say that we will get it done, you can trust that we will, and it will get done,” he said.

His second point was about the importance of a strong mandate. “Whether voters give the new government a strong or a weak mandate makes a very big difference,” he said. “With a strong mandate, when the government needs to act strongly and decisively whether at home or abroad, everyone will know that it’s acting with the people’s support.”

In his third point, Mr Lee discussed the PAP’s goal to have the people’s best interest in mind. “When we adopt a policy or a program, it is because we believe in it,” he explained. “We are convinced ourselves that it is good for Singapore, that we will make it work, that we will make it happen.”

His fourth point involved the opposition. “When the opposition doesn’t quite reach the mark, it’s our job to turn on a torchlight and show people ‘Here, you’d better take a look. This part is going to be a problem. You’d better know it before it becomes a serious problem.’

Mr Lee’s fifth and final point was why the PAP is the right party to lead Singapore. “We will work with you to secure a better life for all and a brighter future for many generations to come,” he said.
