You probably saw this being shared widely in Facebook and WhatsApp chat groups.
But it is highly likely that this is fake news. Why we think it is fake news? Because the news website also carries headlines such as this:
A simple Google search of what Jan Koum, the CEO of WhatsApp said, as reported by the news site 8Shit, is also not reported by other leading news sites.
Such fake news is not uncommon. In November last year, Instagram users got worried after reading reports that other users will be notified when they take a screenshot of their photos. The report said that the new notification was added to the app at its recent update.
Instagram later clarified that there was no truth in such reports.
