Over the weekend, former footballer David Beckham ran a football clinic here in Singapore, training some children. He then shared a clip of the session on his Instagram page on Sunday (Jun 19). Beckham captioned: “Back to training today ⚽😅 Love the energy on the pitch @adidas @adidassg , these kids have a lot of potential! Great being back in Singapore”.

In the 23-second clip, Beckham was seen coaching some young boys. In the drill, the children take turns kicking a ball past him. As they ran around him, animatedly talking, he accidentally missed out on one child. In the clip, that boy could then be heard shouting “Eh!” at a distracted Beckham to get his attention. Beckham then good-naturedly responded with “Ah okay, sorry” and quickly turned back to play with the boy.

The former footballer flew to Singapore last Friday (Jun 17) and took part in an Adidas event at its Orchard Brand Centre. The We Got This Talk Show 2.0 included panellists such as Lions forward Ikhsan Fandi, influencer-entrepreneur Christabel Chua and DJ-YouTuber Jade Rasif.

After meeting David Beckham in person, Jade Rasif says that he is the personification of her favourite quote, “Work hard, stay humble.”

On Instagram, the next day, Ms Rasif, 28, said: “While you can read what we shared in the news, here are the things most didn’t see”.

She added that when it was time to clear the stage, David saw the staff lifting the chairs to clear the stage. “I noticed he left the line up, and when I turned around I realised he was helping the staff move the furniture”, she wrote.

She added: “Although he was not meant to host a meet & greet, he took photos with every person in the room, and shook every hand. After the show he proceeded to walk outside the store center to greet the fans waiting outside and to thank them for their support”.
