Kind-hearted uncle waits in pouring rain to feed cat at Bukit Panjang carpark

Singapore ― No rain no matter how heavy is going to stop one “amazing uncle” from feeding a cat, garnering respect and admiration from members of the public.

While the recent rainfall has urged many to stay dry indoors, this kind-hearted uncle however made sure community cats stay fed and cared for.

An individual witnessed the incident and shared it on Facebook page Cat Lovers Singapore on Friday (Oct 1).

“While waiting for someone, my attention turn(ed) to this uncle,” said the individual.

The uncle was carrying a box of food and bending in the middle of the carpark in the Bukit Panjang area.

He seemed to be looking for something, the individual noted.

“Then he rushed in the middle of the lorry and car to feed a cat! Yes, I saw a cat,” the individual confirmed.

The uncle also made gestures prodding the cat to eat.

“He waited under the rain, for the cat to finish, and then he walked away. Mind you, it’s raining, and without an umbrella, he still waited for the cat to finish,” said the witness, touched by the scene.

Members of the public caring for community cats is a unique cultural aspect of Singapore. The stray cats are adopted by the neighbourhood and given comfortable lives.

In August this year, a community cat was spotted sleeping on the ground after her box and blanket were taken away.

The incident made rounds on social media, with netizens calling on the suspect to return the cat’s belongings, especially during the rainy season.

Others also stepped up to provide the cat with new sleeping accommodations. /TISG
