Singapore — A Trans-cab driver was caught on camera swerving into the lane of a motorcycle repeatedly, increasing the risk of an accident between the road users.

“Reckless driving, cutting off motorcyclist twice,” wrote Facebook page SG Road Vigilante – SGRV on Sunday (Feb 6).

The post included a video of the incident which happened along Yishun Central on Feb 5 at around 4:22 pm.

The video began with a Toyota Prius Trans-cab and the motorcycle at a junction along Yishun Avenue 11.

As the taxi picked up speed, it suddenly swerved to the left, cutting the motorcycle’s path without signalling.

When both parties approached the Golden Village Yishun building, the taxi was behind the motorcycle once more.

However, the taxi driver swerved out to the right lane before cutting the motorcycle’s path sharply, causing the latter to pull on the brakes.

The video sparked criticisms among netizens, who called the taxi driver’s behaviour “idiotic and reckless”.

“Endangering motorcyclist life. Action needs to be taken against the cab driver,” said a Facebook user.

Another netizen added, “Impatient driver. Please ban this driver for life before he causes any unwanted accident.”

“Idiot taxi driver. Accelerate hard, brake hard, any how cut still stuck at traffic light and caught up by leisurely driven cam car,” commented a Facebook user.

Others tagged the Singapore Police Force and the Land Transport Authority to bring their attention to the incident.
