Singapore ― A member of the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) took to social media to highlight that the military responded to his situation of testing positive to Covid-19 more efficiently than the Ministry of Health (MOH).
On Sept 21, the concerned individual was notified by his superiors that he was in close contact with a Covid-positive case and told to conduct a swab test at a SAF regional swab centre.
Singapore — On Tuesday (Sept 28), Workers’ Party MP Jamus Lim (Sengkang GRC) posted a rare personal photo on his Facebook page, and encouraged everyone to “remember that there is a silver lining in every dark cloud.”
POSTING A PHOTO OF HIMSELF PLAYING THE GUITAR TO HIS LITTLE GIRL, HE WROTE, “THERE IS AT LEAST ONE OF US THAT IS DELIGHTED THAT SINGAPORE HAS REVERTED BACK TO WORK-FROM-HOME OVER THE NEXT MONTH!”
The Sengkang MP seldom posts photos of his family, and like many public figures who are parents, most of the time, the pictures he puts up are those where her back is turned to the camera.

Paul Tambyah: We need ‘a sensible plan that actually shows a way out’ of pandemic
Singapore — Infectious disease specialist and chairman of the Singapore Democratic Party Paul Tambyah in a Facebook post on Tuesday (Sept 28) was critical of the government’s management of the Covid pandemic, which has made things difficult for Singaporeans.
Dr Tambyah, the president-elect of the International Society for Infectious Diseases, posted an excerpt from SDP’s “Sensible and Foresighted Plan to Exit the Covid Pandemic,” which the party published on its website yesterday.
Singapore — After needing to wear masks over our noses and mouths for over a year and a half, some people still don’t seem to get it.
Either that, or they’re sick of masking.
One man in a supermarket, when asked by others to place his mask over his nose as it was only covering his mouth, got angry when he was confronted.
And like others who have used strange excuses when asked to mask in public (sovereign citizens and badge ladies), all sorts of interesting things came out of his mouth.

Singapore ― Breaking down Singapore’s current Covid-19 predicament, Makansutra founder KF Seetoh asked: “how did we get here?”
He commented that Singapore is “a woefully obedient society that unquestionably does what it’s told to contain covid (and many other things)”.
He said that as the regulations were implemented, Singaporeans stayed home during the Circuit Breaker, complied with safe-distancing measures, vaccinated ourselves with two doses, and got swab tests as and when necessary.
