Maid says her employer has OCD, so makes her brush the roof, mop walls & ceilings; she has to wear mask for 3 days after going out anywhere

 

A maid wrote that since her employer had Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), she felt that the latter imposed rather absurd cleaning standards on her.

In an anonymous post to Facebook page FDW in Singapore (working conditions forum), the helper wrote that she worked in Singapore for a total of 13 years, and was with this particular employer for just three months. Over the years she had three different employers.

In the wake of a horrific attack in Thailand wherein a man killed 24 children and 12 adults, Workers’ Party MPs Gerald Giam (Aljunied GRC) and He Ting Ru (Sengkang GRC) posed questions about the safety of Singapore’s pre-schools and whether existing security measures are sufficient.

In response to questions posed in Parliament on Thursday (Oct 20), Minister of State for Social and Family Development Sun Xueling underlined that the safety of children in Singapore’s pre-schools is of utmost importance, and therefore measures have been implemented to protect both children and pre-school staff from security threats.

Rebecca Lim, a Singaporean actress who recently started hosting her new variety show, With Love, Becks, said that she was not invited to the wedding of celebrity stars Christopher Lee and Fann Wong last 2009.

A video snippet from the first episode of the show was shared on Instagram by Mediacorp Channel 8 (@ch8sg) and meWATCH (@mewatch.mediacorp), showing the “heated” conversation between the actress and the celebrity couple.

ICA officer allegedly asks Singapore man if his wife is ‘social escort he paid to have fun with’ — wife breaks down in tears

The questions of an ICA officer were the subject of a Facebooker user’s complaint on Wednesday (Oct 19). Mr Eyden Lee wrote on the Singapore Incidents Facebook page that an officer with the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority allegedly asked him more than once if his wife is a “social escort he paid to have fun with.”

This is said to have taken place when the couple was on their way back from a day trip to Malaysia at 8:20 pm on Oct 17 (Monday).

Swensen’s is pretty much an institution in Singapore, a well-beloved go-to for ice cream treats and other comfort food-type treats. However, much of a favourite an eatery is, even the most loyal customers buck when prices get too high.

On the Complaint Singapore page on Wednesday (Oct 19), a Facebook user named Evon Wong posted a photo of an order of plain white rice served in a pyramid shape along with a receipt for $3.
