In response to Minister for National Development Desmond Lee’s recent statement on BTO (Build-to-Order) housing, a handful of Singaporeans called for the opposition to be given a chance to present new ideas to tackle the issue of public housing in Singapore.

In an event at Singapore Management University on Monday (Oct 18), Mr Lee said, “Our offering of BTO flats with different attributes, price points, locations and different levels of housing grants allow us to serve the needs and budgets of a diverse group of flat buyers.”

Customer complains $1.60 RedBull at coffeeshop too expensive, but buys $1.90 RedBull at petrol station and squats instead

Many have been complaining about high prices of food at hawker stalls, coffee shops, and other eateries, but when customers are unreasonable, the owners of these establishments have cause for complaint as well.

One coffee shop owner took to social media after a would-be customer said that a can of Red Bull in his shop, priced at $1.60, was expensive.

A local film titled #LookAtMe, has been banned from screening in Singapore, being deemed with “the potential to cause enmity and social division in Singapore’s multi-racial and multi-religious society,” by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth (MCCY) as well as the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA).

After reading about this news, some Singaporeans, however, are saying that although they had never even heard of the film before the ban, they now find themselves wanting to watch it even more.
