Civil servants to get a month’s bonus, lower-paid ones to get $500 extra

 

Singapore — Civil servants here will receive a year-end bonus of a month’s pay, in recognition of their sustained hard work amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

Lower-wage civil servants — in grades equivalent to MX15 and MX16, and in OSS Grades III to V — will also receive an extra one-time payment of $500.

Singapore — Sim Kah Hwee, 35, went drinking one evening with two colleagues. On his way home, he followed a woman he didn’t know into a lift in Tampines.

When she squeezed past him to exit the lift, he grabbed her buttocks!

Singapore — A new Covid-19 variant was detected by scientists in South Africa on Thursday (Nov 25), noting it had a large number of mutations and is responsible for the surge in infections in the country.

Since the start of November, it was reported that the number of daily Covid-19 cases in South Africa had increased tenfold, making it the hardest-hit country in the continent.

Analysts expect hot demand for Mount Pleasant HDB flats because of prime location, amenities

Singapore — Mount Pleasant is better known for the roomy black-and-white bungalows bulit in the 1940s than the high-rise apartment blocks that are about to set up home in this area wedged between Bukit Timah and the Novena area.

Analysts expect super hot demand for the 5,000 or so public housing apartments to be built on this 33-hectare plot that property analysts such as Huttons Asia head of research Lee Sze Teck describe as a “super prime area”.

Singer Coco Lee’s 83-year-old mum on the road to recovery after wild boar attack in October

Hong Kong — In October, Mama Lee was attacked by a wild boar while she was doing her morning workout. Coco Lee updated her Facebook account on Nov 24 about the condition of Mama Lee.

The elderly woman was seriously injured. She had fractures on her disc bones and elbows. Fortunately, Mama Lee is getting better after five hours of surgery and more than a month of rehab.
